Join Us for Hike for Healing
We invite you to participate in the Hike for Healing, a collaborative event hosted by Outdoor Equity Coalition and Cierra Sisters, taking place at Dash Point State Park on August 8, 2026. This event aims to promote mental and physical well-being through meaningful connections with nature and community.

Walk Together • Talk Together • Heal Together
Your voice matters! We have designed a short survey that helps us understand how outdoor recreation and community connection foster healing experiences for participants. This survey will be administered both before and after the hike, allowing us to gauge the impact of this experience.

Pre-Hike for Healing Survey
Before we embark on our journey, we will ask participants to reflect on their feelings and connections with the community and nature. Here are some of the questions we will ask:
- How are you feeling right now?
- How connected do you feel to the people and community around you?
- How calm and relaxed do you feel right now?
- Do you feel like you have people you can turn to for encouragement or support?
These initial reflections will lay the foundation for a transformative experience.
Post-Hike for Healing Survey
After the hike, participants will be invited to share their thoughts on the experience, focusing on their emotional and physical responses:
- How are you feeling now?
- How connected do you feel to the community now?
- Did today’s Hike for Healing contribute positively to your health and well-being?
- What are you leaving today’s hike with?
This feedback will provide valuable insights into how nature-based activities can support healing and community building.
