On July 18, the remarkable Wellness on the Block event took place, hosted by Cierra Sisters, a new partner of the Outdoor Equity Coalition. This year’s event was a vibrant celebration of healing, joy, and community care, featuring an array of activities designed to foster wellness within the Seattle community.
A Day of Holistic Health
From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, attendees were greeted with free food, live music, and prizes, creating an electrifying atmosphere. However, the event was much more than just entertainment; it offered vital services focused on mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. Local Black and Brown health providers offered free mammograms and dental screenings, directly catering to the community’s health needs.
A Legacy of Healing
This gathering marked the 11th Annual iteration of the fair, a significant milestone honoring the enduring legacy of its founder, Bridgette Hempstead. The event not only highlighted holistic health practices but also reinforced community connections, embodying the spirit of care and compassion that Bridgette envisioned.
